A bridal shower is an event every bride looks forward to as it is not only an event to celebrate the bride but it might also be the only chance she would get to see all her loved ones, friends and family inclusive gather together and mingle.
It’s always the duty of the person planning the bridal shower for the bride-to-be to throw a party the bride would love and remember and cherish for life.
If you are planning a bridal shower and don’t know how to go about it you don’t have to worry!
From choosing a bridal shower theme to planning shower activities, here’s how to plan the perfect bridal shower for the bride-to-be.
How to Plan the Perfect Bridal Shower
1. Decide on a Bridal Shower Budget
The first thing to do when planning a bridal shower is to decide on the budget.
The budget is responsible for all other aspects of the shower planning like the location, themes, favors etc.
Remember that the bridal shower is meant to celebrate the bride and not put a strain on your pocket so choose an amount you can afford and make sure to work within your budget.

2. Pick Shower Date
The next step in planning a bridal shower is picking a date. We recommend you hold the shower 3 months to 2 weeks before the wedding because the bride will get busier as the wedding date approaches.
Make sure to confirm the date with the bride and see if she would be available before deciding on the date, as the bridal shower is all about the bride and there can’t be a bridal shower without the bride.
3. Create Guest List
After you have picked the shower date, the next thing to do is to create a guest list. To do this you should ask the bride for a list of suggestions about who to invite.
Make sure to work within your budget and trim down the invitation to fit your budget if your budget can’t accommodate the number of guests on the list the bride gave you.
Work together with the bride on this.
Remember that whoever is invited to the bridal shower must also be invited to the wedding.
4. Choose a Theme
Although it’s not compulsory to choose a theme for the bridal shower, a theme helps make the bridal shower planning easier as the theme dictates the location, food ideas and decor for the bridal shower.
There are many fun and unique bridal shower themes you can choose from.
While picking the theme remember to pick a theme that suits the bride’s personality.

5. Choose a Location
The next step is to choose a location. The location of the bridal shower is dependent on the theme chosen if you are throwing a themed bridal shower.
If you are working within a budget or don’t have theme you can hold the bridal shower at the hostess’ place if it’s big enough to accommodate the guests.
The bridal shower can also be held at any of the bridesmaid or bride’s family member home. Just make sure you pick a location that is easy to get and big enough to accommodate all the guests.
6. Send Invites
Address the shower invitations and send out the invites. You can also decide to send Evites instead of physical invites.
We recommend sending out invites 6 – 4 weeks before the event to give guests enough time to plan for the shower.
7. Plan Shower Menu
When thinking of what to serve at the bridal shower, the theme and time of the bridal shower will inform the menu ideas.
The theme can help inspire your food options and be incorporated into your serving presentation.
The time of the party will help you decide whether it is a brunch (10am-1pm), luncheon (1pm-3pm), or dinner (5pm-8pm).
If you would like to cut down on the amount spent on bridal shower food and drinks, brunch bridal showers are great for you because they allow you to choose from not only breakfast items but more filling lunch food as well.
Evening bridal showers tend to be much more expensive in terms of what you’ll have to serve (dinner and drinks and usually dessert), so be sure to keep that in mind when planning the shower menu.
8. Get Bridal Shower Decor
Purchase the decor, flower and centerpieces. If you have a bridal shower theme the decor has to go with the shower theme.
If you are going the DIY route now is the time to start making the decor. If you are working within a budget, you can just get some rose gold foil balloons, bunting and some photo props.
9. Plan Bridal Shower Games and Activities
The next step is to plan fun bridal shower games and activities to keep the guests entertained.
Go for interactive games like Find the Guest, Would She Rather, How Old was the Bride-to-be and many more. Make sure to put a break between the games so people won’t get bored.
Remember to also have gifts for winners at the end of the games.
10. Set-Up a Bridal Shower Gifts Station
Bridal showers are all about celebrating the bride. At the bridal shower guests shower the bride with gifts setting up a station for the bridal shower gifts is a way to make sure no gift gets missing or misplaced.
As guests arrive they should place their gifts at the station. Take note which gift is from who so the bride can send her thank you notes.
11. Give out Favors to Guests
Though Favors aren’t a bridal shower requirement, a small gift will go a long way to show your appreciation to guests for coming to the shower.
Favors don’t have to be very expensive but the fact that it isn’t expensive doesn’t mean it has to be something the guest won’t appreciate.
Now go ahead and plan the perfect bridal shower for your gal!
