Uploading SVG files to Cricut Design Space on Desktop
Open Cricut design space and click on “New Project” in the upper right hand corner or click on New Project under “My Projects” tab. This opens into the work canvas.
Click on “Upload” in lower left hand corner. After clicking on upload icon, a screen will display with Upload Image option. On top left center, you will see “Upload Image” button. Click on Upload image button to upload your file.
A new window with the files on your computer will appear. Choose the SVG you want to upload from your computer and click on “Open” or drag and drop the file on window. You can upload either an SVG, PNG, JPG, DXF, BMP or GIF.
Note: If you have not set Cricut as the default program for opening SVG files, the SVG files will show up as Internet browser files. In my case it is showing as Chrome file as this is my default browser
The SVG will have been imported into Cricut and will open up on a screen. On the new screen you can add information about your SVG file. Add image name and tags of your own choice. You can identify your files and also search for them later through tags.
For example: If your SVG file is about birthday, you can add tags related to it and search for it later. You can also rename the image if you wish. After this process, simply click on the “Upload” button on the lower right corner.
Your image is now ready to use and will appear in “Recently added image” gallery. You can select and add the image into the working Canvas by clicking on the “Add to Canvas” button located on lower right hand corner. You can now cut or print the image on screen very easily.
Uploading SVG files to Cricut Design Space from Android or IOS device:
Download and install Cricut Design Space app to your IOS or android device. Create a new account on Cricut Design Space.
On upper left corner, click on “New project” button.
On lower left hand, click on “Upload” icon from bottom menu bar. Click on “Browse file” option and choose your SVG file from your device. Now a preview will display where you can name and save your file.
The file will now appear in “Uploaded images” section. You can select the image and click the insert button. Now the file will appear on canvas and is now ready to be cut.
